Special Ops 2, a popular spy thriller, was supposed to release today, July 11, 2025. The first season came out in 2020 and was a big hit, so fans were really looking forward to the second season. However, the release has been delayed by a week. It will now come out on July 18, 2025.

When and where to watch Kaykay Menon’s Special Ops 2?
Earlier reports said that Special Ops 2 would release on July 11, 2025. But now, the makers have confirmed that the show will premiere on July 18, 2025. Like the previous season, it will be available on the OTT platform JioHotstar.
The makers also shared a short clip from the show while announcing the new date. Actor Kaykay Menon had earlier posted on Instagram that the delay was due to reasons beyond his control. He also mentioned that all episodes of Special Ops 2 will be released together on the same day.
What is Special Ops 2 about?
The new danger: Cyber terrorism
In Special Ops 1, the story followed Himmat Singh, a senior officer in R&AW, who was trying to catch the mastermind behind several deadly attacks happening over 20 years. He believed there was one person secretly behind it all. To find him, he created a special global team. By the end, he proved his theory right and stopped the threat, but this affected his position in the system.
Then came Special Ops 1.5, which showed Himmat’s early years in the 1990s—how he became the officer he is today, facing tough missions and political challenges.
Now, Special Ops 2 continues the story. This time, Himmat Singh will fight a new and dangerous threat: cyber terrorism.
These days, the enemy can’t be seen, so Himmat Singh’s fight will be even tougher. In Special Ops 2, we can expect a tech-based war, with hackers and digital threats. This season will also connect the story from the earlier two seasons and build on the original plot—but with a new kind of danger from the digital world.
Fans are really excited about the new season and hoping it will be just as amazing as the first ones.
