NEET 2026 Exam Analysis: Difficulty Level, Subject Review

The NEET UG 2026 exam was successfully conducted on May 3 by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Held between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., the exam saw participation from approximately 22.7 lakh students across India, making it one of the largest competitive exams in the country.

Based on early student reactions and expert reviews, the NEET 2026 paper was of moderate difficulty. It was neither too easy nor extremely tough but required strong conceptual understanding, especially from NCERT textbooks. Compared to NEET 2025, the difficulty level remained largely similar, though some students found this year’s paper slightly more straightforward.

The question paper was released in four sets – Code 11, 12, 13, and 14 – all having the same structure but with shuffled questions and options.

Subject-Wise Analysis of NEET 2026 Exam

Physics turned out to be the most challenging section. It included many numerical and application-based questions, making it time-consuming. Students needed accuracy and strong problem-solving skills to perform well here.

Chemistry was balanced and moderate. Most questions were based on NCERT concepts, combining theory with some numerical problems. It was considered a scoring section for well-prepared students.

Biology was the easiest and most scoring section. Questions were largely direct and NCERT-based, focusing on diagrams and factual concepts. Many students found it similar to previous years.

Student feedback has been mixed but insightful. While Biology was widely considered easy, Physics created time pressure for many candidates. Chemistry maintained a middle ground. Overall, the paper tested speed, accuracy, and conceptual clarity, rather than rote memorization.

Expected Cut-Off of NEET 2026 Paper

The expected cut-off for NEET 2026 will depend on factors like paper difficulty, number of candidates, and overall performance. Since the paper was moderate, the cut-off is likely to remain close to NEET 2025 levels.

Next, the NTA will release the answer key, allow students to challenge it, and then announce the final results.

NEET 2026 maintained a balanced approach, rewarding students who focused on concepts and practice. With results approaching, aspirants now await the next phase of their medical journey.
