Actor Priya Marathe, widely known for her role in the television series Pavitra Rishta and her work in Marathi cinema, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Mumbai. She was 38. According to reports, Marathe had been battling pancreatic cancer for the past year and was undergoing treatment, but her health gradually declined despite medical care. She breathed her last at her residence in Mira Road, Mumbai. Her untimely demise has left the television and film fraternity in shock, with fans and colleagues mourning the loss of a talented actress remembered for her impactful performances.
During her treatment, Priya Marathe stayed away from social media. Her final post was shared in 2024, featuring photos from a trip to Amer Fort in Jaipur with her husband, actor Shantanu Moghe. Before that, she had posted a traditional look of herself dressed in a nauvari saree and nath.

She also appeared in the first season of Comedy Circus.In 2023, Priya exited the Marathi show Tuzech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe due to health issues, following which she kept a low profile. During this period, many speculated she was receiving cancer treatment, as she also withdrew from social media.
