Google has introduced its newest A-series smartphone, the Pixel 8a, in India. Equipped with the Google Tensor G3 chip and incorporating the Titan M2 security chip, the Pixel 8a promises seven years of software assistance, encompassing security enhancements and Android OS advancements.

The pricing for this starts at Rs 52,999 for the 128GB variant and Rs 59,999 for the 256GB variant. Launch incentives include a Rs 4,000 cashback with certain bank cards and an additional Rs 9,000 exchange bonus for select smartphone models. Pre-order customers can also purchase the Pixel Buds A-series for Rs 999 until May 14. The smart phone debuts in two fresh colors: the exclusive Aloe and Bay, alongside the traditional Obsidian and Porcelain options.

Pixel 8a: Main Features

As anticipated, this smartphone introduces an array of AI capabilities. Driven by the Google Tensor G3 chip, it boasts numerous AI functionalities similar to those found in the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Sporting a dual rear camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel primary lens and a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens, along with a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

Camera functionalities driven by AI encompass options such as Best Take, enabling users to select the optimal shot from a sequence of photos.

Additionally, the Magic Editor allows for subject repositioning and resizing, or the application of presets to enhance the background. Furthermore, the Audio Magic Eraser eliminates unwanted sounds in videos, such as wind, crowds, and other disturbances.

The Pixel 8a features Gemini, Google’s integrated AI assistant, facilitating users to type, converse, and incorporate images for diverse tasks. With Circle to Search, users can swiftly access information without the need to switch between apps.

Additionally, Google has introduced Audio Emojis, enabling users to include audio reactions alongside visual effects. Notably, the smartphone is equipped with a new ‘Actua display’, which is supposedly 40 percent brighter than that of the Pixel 7a.
