Google Gemini

What is Gemini?

Gemini, crafted by Google’s DeepMind division, is a substantial language model (LLM) intended to rival and potentially surpass other AI systems, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Gemini, Google’s latest artificial intelligence model, surpasses other models in tasks such as comprehension, summarization, reasoning, coding, and planning. It is offered in three versions: Pro, Ultra, and Nano. The Pro version is currently accessible, with the Ultra version set to launch in the early part of the upcoming year.

Google asserts that the performance of Gemini Ultra surpasses existing state-of-the-art outcomes on 30 out of the 32 commonly employed academic benchmarks in large language model (LLM) research and development.

Additionally, Gemini Ultra is the inaugural model to outshine human experts in extensive multitask language understanding (MMLU). MMLU involves testing world knowledge and problem-solving abilities across 57 subjects, including math, physics, history, law, medicine, and ethics.

The Impact of Gemini on Google search

Google stated that Gemini would extend its integration into additional products and services such as Search, Ads, Chrome, and Duet AI. The company mentioned ongoing experimentation with Gemini in Search, particularly in enhancing the Search Generative Experience (SGE). This has resulted in a 40% reduction in latency for users in English in the U.S., accompanied by enhancements in overall quality.

Is Gemini better than Chat GPT4?

Currently, it’s challenging to determine definitively, but Gemini appears to exhibit greater flexibility compared to GPT-4. Its capacity to function with video and operate offline on devices provides a notable advantage. Additionally, Gemini is accessible for free use, whereas ChatGPT-4 is exclusively available to paid users.
