Iran Israel War

Israel and Iran have been launching more attacks against each other, as tensions between the two nations, which began on Friday, escalated further by Monday. The conflict began with Israel striking Iran’s nuclear and military facilities, prompting Iran to respond with airstrikes aimed at Israel.

The conflict between Israel and Iran has entered its fifth day, following Israel’s rejection of Iran’s overnight diplomatic efforts to end the fighting. In retaliation, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has ordered evacuations, stating that its Aerospace Force will launch precision strikes on occupied territories within a few hours.

Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, India has started evacuating its citizens from Iran, with reports indicating that around 100 Indian nationals have reached the Armenia border.

It announced that every city, location, and facility would be treated as legitimate military targets.

Revolutionary Guards spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini, as reported by the official IRNA news agency, said, “The ninth wave of coordinated drone and missile strikes has begun and will persist continuously until dawn.”

U.S. President Donald Trump left the G7 summit in Canada earlier than scheduled and posted on Truth Social that Iran missed an opportunity to make a deal, calling the situation a tragic waste of human life caused by their actions. However, he declined to say whether the United States would intervene in the conflict.

At the Group of Seven summit in Canada, world leaders urged a de-escalation of the most severe conflict yet between the regional rivals. They described Iran as a source of instability and emphasized that it must never obtain a nuclear weapon, while also reaffirming Israel’s right to self-defense.

On Tuesday (June 17, 2025), Israel’s military announced it had killed Ali Shadmani, identified as Iran’s wartime chief of staff and its highest-ranking military commander. A day earlier, on Monday (June 16, 2025), Israel targeted Iran’s state-run TV station during a live broadcast, causing a reporter to flee on air after an explosion. The strike came in response to a fresh missile attack by Iran on Israel, which left at least eight people dead.

In other updates, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel’s attacks have significantly delayed Iran’s nuclear program by a “very, very long time.” He clarified that Israel is not aiming to overthrow the Iranian government, but noted he wouldn’t be surprised if the strikes led to that outcome.
