He has offered Thalapathy Vijay a refreshing story, quite different from the Tamil star’s recent films. Vijay plays two distinct roles, and the stark contrast between the characters adds to the intrigue. Venkat Prabhu has filled the film with many tributes, from Captain Vijayanath and SPB to Ajith’s Mankatha hook step, as well as nods to his late cousin Bhavatharini and several of Vijay’s past films.

While there are some slow moments, Vijay’s excellent performance and the strong ensemble cast make them easy to overlook. The director fully utilizes Vijay’s signature charm, sentiment, action, dance, and humor, which is sure to resonate with fans and audiences alike.
Venkat Prabhu often collaborates with friends and family, and once again, his cousin Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for GOAT, just like in his previous films. Yuvan delivers a strong background score, and the remix of an old Ilaiyaraaja song is catchy and energetic. However, the standout track is Chinna Chinna Kangal, a touching and soulful song created with AI featuring Bhavathirini.
