Narendra Modi Government 3.0: Complete List of Ministers Who Took Oath

Narendra Modi took the oath as the Prime Minister for the third time on Sunday. President Droupadi Murmu also administered oath to Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Nitin Gadkari. Here is the complete list of ministers who joined the Modi 3.0 government on Sunday.

On Sunday, BJP leader Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term. This is a historic event, as no Prime Minister since Jawaharlal Nehru, the first PM of independent India, has served three terms. On this momentous day, a total of 72 leaders, including the Prime Minister, were sworn in as part of the Modi 3.0 ministry.

The new Cabinet consists of 30 Cabinet ministers, five Ministers of State with Independent Charge, and 36 Ministers of State. Here is a list of the 30 Cabinet Ministers.

  1. Rajnath Singh, who served as the Union Defence Minister in the previous government, was sworn in again on Sunday.
  2. Amit Shah, who served as the union Home minister in Modi 2.0, has been inducted into the new government as the Home Affairs Minister and the Minister for Cooperation.
  3. Nitin Gadkari, who served as the Union Minister of Road and Transport, has retained the Road Transport Ministry in the newly-formed NDA government.
  4. Nirmala Sitharaman, who previously managed the Finance portfolio, retained her position in the new government.
  5. JP Nadda, the BJP national chief, joined the Narendra Modi-led Cabinet as a new member handling the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
  6. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, has been appointed to a Cabinet berth and will be handling the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
  7. S Jaishankar, the former External Affairs Minister, retained his ministry of External Affairs in the Modi 3.0 government.
  8. In the new Union Cabinet, Manohar Lal Khattar has been designated as the Union Power Minister.
  9. HD Kumaraswamy, the leader of JD(S), took the oath as the Heavy Industries and Steel Minister in the NDA government led by PM Modi.
  10. Piyush Goyal won his debut Lok Sabha term by defeating the Congress candidate and has taken over the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
  11. Dharmendra Pradhan, who served as a Union minister in the previous government, was sworn in once more as the Minister of Education.
  12. Jitan Ram Manjhi, the former Chief Minister of Bihar, has been appointed to lead the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Ministry.
  13. Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh, a leader from Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), was sworn in as a Union Cabinet Minister taking over the charge of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying and Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
  14. Sarbananda Sonowal, a BJP leader from Assam, took the oath as a Union Minister and will be looking after the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
  15. Virendra Kumar -Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment
  16. Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, a leader of the Telugu Desam Party, was included in the government and will be leading the Civil Aviation MInistry.
  17. Pralhad Joshi -Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Minister of New and Renewable Energy.

  19. Giriraj Singh was sworn in as a Union Minister in the NDA government and will be taking over the charge of the Ministry of Textiles.
  20. Ashwini Vaishnaw, who previously served as the Railways Minister, was sworn in as a Union Cabinet Minister and will be handling the Ministry of Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and IT.
  21. Jyotiraditya Scindia, who secured his fifth term in the Lok Sabha, will be handling the Ministry of Communications and Development of North Eastern region.
  22. Bhupendra Yadav – Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change
  23. Gajendra Shekhawat – Minister of Culture and Minister of Tourism
  24. Annapurna Devi, a BJP leader from Jharkhand, has been appointed as the new Women and Child Development Minister for the NDA government’s third term.
  25. Kiren Rijiju-Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs
  26. Hardeep Singh Puri – Minister of Petroleum and Natural gas
  27. Mansukh Mandaviya, who previously served as the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, was sworn in again on Sunday and will be handling the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
  28. Kishan Reddy-Minister of Coal and Minister of Mines
  29. Chirag Paswan, whose party Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas (LJP-RV) allied with the NDA, was sworn in as part of Modi 3.0 and will handling the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
  30. CR Patil was sworn in as a Union Cabinet Minister.
