Deepti Bhagwan Sharma, born on August 24, 1997, represents India in cricket, featuring for Bengal, Birmingham Phoenix, and the national team. She showcases versatility, being a left-handed batswoman and a right-arm off-break bowler. Presently, she holds the third position among all-rounders in the ICC Cricket Rankings. Additionally, she stands as the third highest individual scorer among female cricketers in ODIs, with 188 runs to her credit.
Deepti Sharma was bought for INR 2.6 crore by the UP Warriorz during the inaugural Women’s Premiere League Auction, making her the fourth-highest priced acquisition and the second-most expensive Indian player, after Smriti Mandhana.

WPL 2024: Deepti Sharma the MVP
During the Women’s Premiere League (WPL) 2024 finals, Deepti Sharma was named the Most Valuable Player in the 2024 WPL. Upon receiving the Most Valuable Player award, Deepti Sharma expressed, ” I played my actual game, kept belief in myself with different shots at right occasions. Before the tournament, worked on drills on the off-side to improve the game, I played my shots on the off-side, I’m happy for that. Last season, wasn’t getting much opportunity with the bat and this season I batted up the order too, I was able to contribute as well and feeling happy.
In the WPL 2024, spinners Shreyanka Patil, Sophie Molineux, and Asha Sobhana collectively claimed nine wickets, while Ellyse Perry exhibited composure with an unbeaten 35 runs, guiding Royal Challengers Bangalore to victory in the WPL 2024 championship. They secured an eight-wicket win over Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday.
RCB dominated the season’s awards, with Ellyse Perry clinching the Orange Cap for scoring 347 runs and Shreyanka Patil securing the Purple Cap with 13 wickets to her name.
Georgia Wareham was honored with the Electric Striker of the Season award, while Sanjeevan Sajana claimed the catch of the season award. Royal Challengers Bangalore also received the Fairplay Award.
