JEE Mains 2024 Result Declared

The NTA (National Testing Agency) has declared the results of JEE Mains Session 1 Results and the second session of JEE Mains has been scheduled for April. Candidates who perform well in both JEE-Mains Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be selected to take the JEE-Advanced exam. This exam serves as the gateway to admission into the 23 prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Among the candidates who achieved perfect NTA scores of 100, there were seven students from Telangana, while there were two from Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra each had three. Additionally, Delhi had two, while Gujarat, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu each had one candidate.

What are JEE mains Exams?

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination which is an engineering entrance test conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India.

The JEE Main exam is conducted in two sessions.

JEE Main Session 1 for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) is usually held in January-February and Session 2 is held in April. This is done to make sure that JEE main does not interfere with Board examinations.

It serves as a qualifying test for JEE (Advanced), which is the entrance exam for admission into the IITs.

JEE Mains and JEE Advanced

JEE Mains

  • The JEE main exam is an Entrance exam for admission to NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), and other centrally-funded technical institutions.
  • It also serves as an eligibility test for the JEE Advanced exam.
  • It is conducted twice a year, typically in January and April.

JEE Advanced

  • The JEE Advanced Exam is conducted specifically for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), as well as IISTs (Indian Institutes of Space Science and Technology) and RGIPTs (Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology).
  • It should be noted that only candidates who qualify through JEE Mains are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.
  • It is conducted once a year, usually in May or June.

What should the Candidates do next?

Candidates who have achieved notable scores can gear up for the Advanced exam.

Alternatively, if you find your scores unsatisfactory, you have the option to participate in the JEE Mains Session 2. Otherwise, you can choose to undergo the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling process to apply for admission to various NITs (National Institute of Technology), IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutions), and other institutes.

How to Check the JEE Main result Scorecard?

The candidates who had given the JEE main exam can go to the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in.

Then the applicants need to enter their application number and password.  After downloading, you will get these particulars within your JEE scorecard.
